Reset or change your password

  1. On the sign-in page, select Forgot password?
  2. Enter your email and select Send reset link. You’ll see “Check your email” — if an account exists for that address, a reset link arrives shortly. The link expires after 60 minutes and can only be used once.
  3. Open the link and set your new password on the “Set a new password” screen — at least 8 characters, typed twice. We never see your password in plain text.
  4. Select Update password. You’re signed in automatically.

Expected result: you’re back in your account with the new password active.

  1. Go to Settings → Password (under Security).
  2. Enter your current password (always required).
  3. Enter and confirm the new one (at least 8 characters, and different from the current password).
  4. Select Update password.

Expected result: you’re signed out on every device (remembered devices cleared) and land on the sign-in page — sign in once with the new password.

  • “This link has expired.” Reset links are single-use and short-lived. Select Request a new reset link and use the fresh one.
  • No reset email after a minute? Check spam, and make sure you used the address you sign in with — the screen says “check your email” either way.
  • “Current password is incorrect.” when changing while signed in — if you can’t remember it, sign out and use Forgot password? instead.
  • Don’t want to deal with passwords right now? On the sign-in page, Email me a sign-in link instead sends a one-hour sign-in link to your address.
